One way for an old dog to learn new tricks is to use Emmotional Freedom technique. This is a modified techinique which comes from NLP and other techniques for retraining the nervoius system and emotions so we can improve our actions. it works well for some people who are trying to lose wieght, stop smoking or stop thinking negative thoughts. In other words any kind of obsessive repetative behavior can be improved with this system.

How it works

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) was originally designed to reduce the psychotherapy process from months and years down to minutes and hours. From there it was discovered that astonishing physical healings also occurred. Symptoms faded for everything from Migraine Headaches to Cancer. Complete details are given on the EFT website. It sometimes works where nothing else will.

Bypassing long term psychoanalysis and going straight for the energetic fields of the body EFT uses “tapping” on specific acupressure or meridian points while focusing on the problem at hand and correcting it with verbal cues.

I was pretty skeptical when I was first introduced to the technique but many people have had results with EFT when other things just did not work. I have found it to be surprisingly useful in my own life.
